    If you are a Master’s level student looking to help improve our community and grow professionally, while destigmatizing mental health in the black and brown community, then keep reading because this is for you!!

    Join our team of competent and compassionate professional clinicians of color and culturally responsive clinicians as a Master’s-Level Student in an Outpatient Setting providing virtual and in-person therapy.

    Outpatient Intern provides supervised services to Serene Way clients across the lifespan via outcome-driven, evidence-based psychotherapy and social-emotional skills training and support. Services are delivered in a variety of settings and modalities, including the clinic, schools, outreach community locations, or via telehealth platforms. Clinical services include comprehensive assessments, individual, couple, family, and group therapy, and coordination with other service providers as indicated. Interns maintain a small caseload, under close supervision of a licensed clinician, interns participate in weekly supervision and are able to request as needed supervision as well.

    Serene Way Therapy & Wellness Center is seeking compassionate, motivated Master’s-level interns to join our growing team. We are a culturally responsive behavioral health practice committed to providing trauma-informed, evidence-based care while reducing the stigma surrounding mental health in Black, Brown, immigrant, and underserved communities.

    Our internship is designed to prepare students for successful clinical careers through meaningful client experiences, comprehensive supervision, and professional development.

    Clinical Internship Overview

    Clinical interns provide supervised behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in outpatient, school-based, community, and telehealth settings.

    Interns gradually develop a clinical caseload while working closely with licensed clinicians who provide ongoing mentorship, consultation, and supervision.

    Clinical Responsibilities

    Interns may have opportunities to:

    • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments
    • Develop treatment plans
    • Provide individual psychotherapy
    • Facilitate family and couples therapy
    • Co-facilitate therapeutic groups
    • Complete clinical documentation
    • Participate in case consultation
    • Coordinate care with schools, physicians, and community agencies
    • Assist with crisis intervention and safety planning
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
    • Observe specialized clinical interventions

    Help Expand Access to Mental Health Services Through Grant Development

    Are you interested in nonprofit leadership, behavioral health, public health, communications, research, or community development? Do you enjoy writing, researching, and helping organizations secure funding that creates meaningful community impact?

    Serene Way Therapy & Wellness Center is seeking a Grant Research & Development Intern to support our grant writing and fundraising efforts. Working directly with the Grant Writer, interns will gain hands-on experience researching funding opportunities, developing proposals, tracking grants, and supporting initiatives that expand access to culturally responsive behavioral health services across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

    This internship is ideal for students interested in nonprofit management, public health, social work administration, communications, or organizational leadership.

    Grant Internship Responsibilities

    Grant Research

    • Identify funding opportunities from federal, state, corporate, and private foundations
    • Research funder priorities and eligibility requirements
    • Maintain grant prospect databases
    • Track application deadlines

    Grant Writing & Proposal Development

    • Assist in writing grant proposals and Letters of Inquiry (LOIs)
    • Draft compelling narratives
    • Gather organizational and program information
    • Assist with proposal budgets and supporting documentation
    • Edit and proofread grant submissions

    Grant Management & Compliance

    • Track grant submissions and reporting deadlines
    • Organize grant files and documentation
    • Assist with grant reporting and compliance

    Program Development Support
